Seasoned Media practitioner, Afia Pokuaa known widely as Vim Lady is shading invaders of United Television (UTV) who have spent days in police detention.
She observed that the wards of those who assigned them are out there partying while they have been locked up in jail awaiting the determination of their fate.
In a Facebook post in reaction to their arrest, she wrote “Those who sent those NPP thugs and their children home drinking Champagne and you will be behind bars”
The Ghana Police Service in an official communication indicated it had arrested 16 persons who invaded the studios of UTV during its United Showbiz programme.
“Following a complaint from the Despite Media Group and Ministry of Information that certain people had invaded the studios of U-TV this evening, the Police proceeded to the scene and arrested sixteen (16) persons in connection with the incident. They are currently at the Police Station assisting investigations”, the statement on the official Facebook of the Police Service read.
It is however unclear if the suspects believed to be members of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) have been granted bail or would be arraigned before court and what charges could be preferred against them.
