Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah has “launched” a lobby for the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with NDC boys’ support.
The Ejisu MP’s bid to become the Running Mate is being supported by articles and opinion pieces from opposition NDC “mercenaries” seeking to influence the ruling NPP to choose John Kumah.
Dela Coffie in lobbying for John Kumah in an article said “the man (John Kumah) radiates honesty, excellence, charisma, a positive vision for the future, a voice for empowerment, and a role model for the youth. As a matter of fact, Dr. John Kumah has had one of the great career arcs of modern Ghanaian politics since becoming an MP and Minister less than four years ago.”
NPP insiders are wondering how an opposition “boy” is interested in the decision of the NPP and why John Kumah in particular.
The said Dela Coffie has been a subject of investigation by state agencies over alleged fraud and blackmail and many wonder why John Kumah wants is associated with the character.
Earlier reports suggested Kumah is seriously lobbying to be named “running mate” with the assistance of the Akyem faction of the party.
Some supporters of John Kumah say he is likely to be the “fourth John” to become President of Ghana after John Rawlings, John Mills and John Mahama.
The Akyem faction, rumours say, consider John Kumah loyal and trustworthy to do their bidding as Vice President should they win the 2024 election and will push him for President.
