Following the unexpected strikes in Israel on Saturday morning by Hamas militants, an Irish woman called Kim Damti, who claims dual citizenship in Ireland and Israel, has been reported missing.

When the attack took place, Damti was at a rave.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has acknowledged that it is aware of the situation, is in touch with the family, and is offering consular support.

Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar stated that the government was aware of the issue and prepared to provide consular support to dual-Irish and Irish nationals who were impacted by the attacks.

Who is Kim Damti?

22-year-old Kim Damti was reportedly at an outdoor rave close to the Gaza border when the first missile fire struck at around 7 a.m., according to sources.

Hundreds of terrified young people at the party fled for their lives as the onslaught started as Hamas terrorists stormed the area and began fire.

Jennifer, Kim Damti’s mother, claimed that although her daughter’s name first showed up on a list of persons who had made it to safety, she was not on the buses that took revellers away from the club. Jennifer called her kid “brilliant” and “happy” in her description of her.

Israel is the place of Kim Damti’s birth, and she lives there with her four siblings. Her mother’s native Ireland has been a summer destination for her family.

In the attack on Saturday, armed terrorists broke through the high-tech barriers enclosing the Gaza Strip to enter Israel, where they opened fire and kidnapped prisoners. Hamas and Islamic Jihad were responsible for the thousands of rockets fired from Gaza.

The attack’s precise objectives are unknown, but there has been rising violence between Israeli soldiers, settlers, and Palestinians in the West Bank for months.

The plight of the Irish-Israeli citizen who went missing following the Hamas attack has also been acknowledged by Tánaiste Micheál Martin, the deputy prime minister of Ireland.
