National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha has disclosed that he takes full responsibility for the conduct of the party’s youth last Saturday in the studios of United Television (UTV).
He disclosed that the conduct of the youth is not justifiable and as the head of the youth in the party, he should be blamed for the ugly incident that truncated the live transmission of the show.
Speaking on Neat FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he reiterated that the conduct of the party’s youth was improper and they could have channeled their grievances in a better way.
“We accept that the invasion of the TV station was improper and I take full responsibility for my men. When police officers misconduct themselves it is the IGP who is blamed so is the Chief of Defense Staff held responsible for the excesses of his men. When the youth under men misconduct I cannot be absolved of blame so take it like I am the one and forgive me”, he pleaded.
Giving assurance such incidents will not be repeated in the future he said” I can assure you that what happened will not repeat itself because we made them understand that radio or TV stations determine their content for audience and there is little we can do in that respect. If United Showbiz is gradually turning political, there is a way we can handle the matter rather than resorting to violence or any form of aggression”
