Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Okraku Mantey has failed in his bid to represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as its Parliamentary candidate in the 2024 election in the Ayensuano constituency.

Okraku Mantey contested against four others in his bid to represent the NPP in the constituency.

He polled 136 of the total votes cast on the day.

Ida Adjoa Asiedu who won the election polled 410 of the total votes cast. Ayeh-Paye Samuel, who was the former Member of Parliament also polled 103, Boateng Adonai Kingsley also polled 3 while Addo Ernest polled 4 of the votes cast.

Delegates of the NPP are voting today in the orphan constituencies to elect their parliamentary candidates.

The election forms part of the party‘s preparation ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Orphan constituencies are areas where the NPP has no sitting MPs. In other words, constituencies whose MPs are from the National Democratic Congress or independent candidates.
