Ghanaian singer, AK Songstress born Akosua Kwakye has said Disc Jockeys (DJs) can’t be entirely blamed for not playing our songs at events.

“We’re also to be blamed and so we don’t need to blame the DJs alone for not playing Ghanaian songs at events because what the people demand is what they’ll play.

“So if we’re Ghanaians at a club and we want the DJs to play our songs we have to pay and request for our songs and we should also enjoy our songs,” she revealed on Property FM in Cape Coast.

According to the ‘Jonathan’ hitmaker, Nigerians go the extra mile to influence songs played by DJs when they attend events or at night clubs.

“How well are our people influencing our music and if a Nigerian comes to mix with about 10 Ghanaians at a club he’ll request for the DJ to play a Nigerian song.

She added as MyNewsGh.com monitored “When the Nigerian song is played it will be loud in the ears of the Ghanaians and in terms of music what you hear mostly turns to become your favourite”.
