Mohammed Kudus has had a remarkable start to life at West Ham United.

On Sunday, the Ghanaian international scored his first brace of goals in the Premier League as West Ham beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 at the London Olympic Stadium.

Kudus has now scored nine goals in all competitions in half a season at the East London club, despite not starting the season with them.

Kudus and West Ham could not have asked for a better start to life in East London.

There is one problem, however. AFCON 2023.

Kudus is expected to join Ghana’s pre-tournament camp for the for the African Cup of Nations next month.

Understandably, some West Ham United fans are getting palpitations over the possibility of losing the Ghanaian international for up to six weeks.

To some, the only solution is for Ghana to suffer an early exit. Here is one such fan expressing her view after Kudu’s heroics on Sunday.

Ghana has been paired in Group B with Cape Verde Egypt and Mozambique for next month’s tournament in Ivory Coast.

The tournament is scheduled to run from 13 January until 11 February 2024.
