The suspended Northern Regional Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Gbewaa has lost his mother.
The unfortunate incident happened at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Friday, January 19, 2024, after a short illness.
The death of the late mother of the Suspended Northern Regional Vice Chairman was announced by the Northern Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr Mohammed Abdul Salam.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I bring to you the SAD NEWS of the passing to glory of Hajia Adamu Alhassan, the Mother of ALHAJI GBEWAA (“VICE CHAIRMAN”).
The Hajia Adamu Alhassan has since been buried in accordance with Islamic custom at Tuutingli public cemetery where supporters of the NDC with regional and constituency executives trooped to pay their last respects to the deceased.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), suspended the Northern Regional Vice Chairman, Alhaji Gbewaa over the assault of the Northern Regional Treasurer of the NDC, Hajia Shamima Yakubu.
The decision was made at a meeting in Accra between regional and national executives of the NDC.
The Northern Regional Vice Chairman, Alhaji Gbewaa, who was arrested earlier and subsequently granted bail in connection with the assault of the Northern Regional Treasurer of the NDC.
His arrest resulted in a protest by some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tamale.
