The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Yendi constituency has congratulated Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama for being elected as the parliamentary candidate for the NPP.
A statement signed by the Secretary of New Patriotic Party Yendi Constituency, Abdul-Karim Nashiru read “The leadership of the New Patriotic Party, Yendi wishes to extend a word of congratulation to Hon. Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama for emerging victorious in Saturday’s Parliamentary primary to represent the ticket of the party come 2024 presidential and Parliamentary elections”.
According to him, the leadership acknowledges the zeal, enthusiasm and the fortitude that he put in during the campaigns to emerge victorious.
“The leadership also believes that with tenacity of purpose and committed unalloyed unity, we shall break the 8 with you, Hon. Alhaji Umar Farouk Aliu as our true representative in the ninth parliament of the Fourth Republic and H E Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice-president of the Republic of Ghana as our next president”. The party however admonished the victor and his supporters to celebrate their win with kindness and extend an olive branch to the losers to join the bandwagon to come together as a unified force to execute a robust campaign for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections with an ultimate aim of retaining both the presidency and our seat in parliament.
“The leadership understands that the contest was very hectic and herculean but with the dexterity with which you and your campaign team carried out the campaign no wonder team FAM emerged victorious in the keenly contested Parliamentary primary in the history of Yendi body politic since 1969”.
Mr. Nashiru said the leadership is counting on him as the current Member of Parliament and Parliamentary candidate-elect for 2024 to do more as he has been doing to bring a lot of development to the constituency.
“Once again, congratulations to you, Hon. Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama, Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Candidate elect for 2024 Parliamentary elections in Yendi constituency. With you as our parliamentary candidate in 2024, we shall work to widen the gap more as we did in the 2020 elections.
