Ibrahim Sulemana, the new addition to the Black Stars, is a workaholic defensive midfielder who has earned the nickname ‘N’Golo Kanté’ due to the similarities in his playing style to that of the revered French midfielder.

Sulemana thrives on his defensive capabilities and outstanding ball-winning ability, which makes him both a shield and a pillar in the midfield for Cagliari.

His energy to run the length and breadth of the pitch, disrupting opposition play, has earned him comparisons to Kanté.

He’s a tenacious player who’s not afraid to engage in challenges and is often seen making crucial tackles and interceptions.

Although his defensive abilities are the standout quality in his game, he is also quite technical, which allows him to impact his team with good forward passing and ball-carrying.

Sulemana is expected to translate his stunning form for Cagliari to the Black Stars in the 2024 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

He is one of the two debutants named in the squad and will be looking to leave his mark when Ghana plays Mali and the Central African Republic in separate games in June.
