Former General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has said that the President of Ghana can enhance the chances of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia if some changes are made in his last year in office.
“The President can enhance the chances of Dr Bawumia by making certain changes,” he said on Starr Chart in Accra monitored by MyNewsGh.com
He mentioned that he continues to stand by his calls for the Finance Minister to be removed or resign for someone else to take over.
“He had stood in front of Ghanaians and said we were not going to the IMF and did a U-turn in a couple of weeks and I said in any decent democracy you stand down as a person, he chose not to go. I disagree with the President for not taking action to let him and months down the line the MPs…how many of them? 88 so I was not wrong,” he said on Accra-based Starr FM.
He indicated that party people must have the humility to accept that we have been through difficult times and even though the government has excelled on other fronts, there are other fronts that they have struggled.
