A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North and a known campaigner of resigned New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Collins Owusu Amankwah has failed in his bid to return to parliament.

Mr. Owusu Amankwah who was seeking revenge he received at the hands of the incumbent, Hon Akwasi Konadu could only poll 15 votes despite touting himself as the grassroots person.

In what can be described as a total humiliation, Hon Akwasi Konadu polled 389 votes to retain his bid but was given a run for his money by Richard Osei Bamfo who polled 283 while the loud lawmaker consoled himself at the bottom with 15 votes.

It would be recalled that in June 2020, the then-lawmaker Collins Amankwah suffered at the hands of the Hon Akwasi Konadu as he defeated him by a vote difference.

Announcing the results then, the Electoral Commission rejected three out of the 554 votes.

With 551 valid votes, the then MP had 273 votes whereas the only contender, Akwasi Konadu secured 278 votes.
