Guinea Bissau caught the world’s attention when they beat Nigeria 1-0 on 24 March 2023.
The win answered many questions about Guinea Bissau’s credibility and the progress the country had made under.
They eventually finished second in their qualifying group behind Nigeria.
By the end of the qualifiers, Guinea Bissau had recorded four wins, one draw and one defeat. Their only defeat came against Nigeria in a campaign that was the best in the country’s history.

Baldé is very good at sending accurate crosses, has been known to score goals when in good goalscoring positions.
