Ghanaian musician, Dr Cryme born Darlington Agyekum has said winning the Grammy Awards isn’t about singing in the English language.

He told Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast-based Property FM that Angelique Kidjo and Youssou N’Dour won Grammys by singing in their indigenous languages.

He remarked “I think that winning the Grammys is about hard work that will get us there but I don’t think it’s necessarily about singing in English.

“The likes of Angelique Kidjo used her indigenous language to sing but she’s won a lot of Grammy Awards including Youssou N’Dour.

“So I think these people have made a lot of impact at the Grammy Awards and I believe it’s not singing in English that took them there,” he continued as sighted by MyNewsGh.com

He reiterated “Your indigenous language can help you to win the Grammy Awards but most of all it is about working hard and getting the proper connections”.
