Black Princesses coach Yusif Basigi has cautioned the team against complacency after Sunday’s remarkable win over Eswatini.
The Princesses came from behind to secure a 6-1 win away from home in a third-round FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier.
In his post match comments, Basigi highlighted the difficulty of facing an opponent they had never scouted, and in unfriendly conditions.
”Our opponents also came with a tactical plan. They tried to attack us aerially and it paid off when they scored through a similar scenario after five minutes.”

”This was our first time seeing them play but we adjusted appropriately after the early setback. We responded well even though the rain affected us because it limit us in terms of the options we could execute under such conditions.” he said.
Basigi who congratulated the team for the remarkable turnaround, also warned the team against complaceny.
”The least we can do is to treat them with respect and prepare as well as we did for the first leg. We have one leg in the next round and to get there, we have to finish the task by defending our advantage. We cannot leave anything to chance.” he concluded.
Next year’s tournament in Columbia will be the seventh in Ghana’s history if they are able to qualify.
