There was near blows in parliament involving MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong and Ngleshie MP Sylvester Tetteh on the floor of parliament.
The alleged scuffle occurred with Bekwai MP Joe Osei Owusu presiding over proceedings.
Reports suggest but for the quick intervention of Deputy Majority Leader Afenyo Markin, the situation between the two MPs would have been a full-blow fight.
Reports from parliament suggest the Assin Central MP had demanded the repayment of a loan he granted the Ngleshie MP who retorted that Kennedy Agyapong should go to court.
This infuriated the defeated NPP Flagbearer hopeful which led to a brief misunderstanding.
The Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has been known to be no-nonsense leading to his invitation to the Privileges Committee of Parliament in times past.
This was after Agyapong described the Minority Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, as “dumb” for referring him to Parliament’s Privileges Committee over some purported insults he uttered against Kyei Mensah Bonsu and parliament.
Kennedy Agyapong took on the minority whip and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Asawase, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka for asking in Parliament to haul him before Privileges Committee over the matter. The two had a confrontation on the floor of parliament.
According to the Assin Central MP, the minority chief whip is a ‘dumb’ MP because he did not listen to the tape very well before asking Parliament to drag him before the Privileges Committee.
