The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Convention People’s Party(CPP) has dissolved the national leadership of the party due to damning allegations made against the party’s principal officers; the General Secretary, Nana Yaa Januah, and Chairperson, Nana Frimpongmaa Sarpong Kuman Kumah.
The NEC took the decision at its meeting held at the GNAT Hall in Kumasi on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Allegations leveled against the Chairperson of the party were that she was involved in an illegal and fraudulent attempted sale of party data to the Movement for Change; that she illegally withdrew funds from the party and that she established Illegal fundraising schemes in the party’s name.
The General Secretary, on the other hand, was accused of Administrative incompetence, dereliction of duty, continuous lies, financial malpractices, an inability to work with others and excessive pride and arrogance.
The now-dissolved leadership took over in 2020 after the national delegates conference of the party.
