Manchester City beat Sheffield United by two goals to nil in their final Premier League match of 2023.

Rodri opened the scoring for the defending champions after receiving a Phil Foden pass and fired into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the area.

Despite their early lead and dominant start City were forced to wait until the second half before making the point safe. Foden was involved again as his low cross was converted by Julian Alvarez.

The win was a perfect way to the end a perfect year for City, who won the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, Premier League and the FA Cup. All five trophies were displayed on the pitch before kick-off.

City also welcomed Belgian midfielder Kevin Debruyne from injury as he was named on the bench for the first time since his injury in the UEFA Super Cup.

City are now level on points with Premier League leaders Liverpool.
