Chef Faila ( Failatu Abdul Razak) has stated that her attempt to break the world record for the longest cooking marathon, which had the overwhelming support of Ghanaians, is a win for all Ghanaians and not just hers. She noted that the unwavering support, love and encouragement she enjoyed in her attempt to break the world record make the accomplishments a collective effort of all Ghanaians and not an individual affair.
The Executive Chef expressed her gratitude to Ghanaians for putting aside whatever differences they had and throwing their weight behind her quest to put Ghana on the map by way of the Guinness World Records.
“Words will not be enough, words will not be able to describe how I feel. This is first in history to see religions, to see tribes, to see towns, to see people with different views come together as one to push Ghana to the top of the world. This is extremely amazing. It is the collective effort of everyone: children, the youth, adults, and every single soul, working day and night to make this a reality for all of us. This is a win for all of us and not me. I couldn’t have done it without you,” she said in a speech after ending her attempt.
She pledged to continue to improve upon her craft and make herself available to support others with the opportunities her attempt has brought her way.
“I am all yours to nurture me and put me to every good use this opportunity we have had this period,” he promised.
Chef Faila’s Cook-a-thon attempt which lasted a whopping ten days saw her prepare 150 different dishes in 227 hours. The Guinness World Records is set to review the Cook-a-thon attempt and give its verdict in the coming weeks.
