Francis Ngannou is a professional mixed martial artist who competes in the heavyweight division of the UFC.
He was born in 1986 in Batie, Cameroon. Ngannou grew up in extreme poverty and had to drop out of school at age 10 to work in sand mines to support his family.
As a child, Ngannou faced grueling and dangerous working conditions in the mines. The labor helped develop his imposing strength and physique from a young age.
Ngannou remained very close with his parents and five siblings throughout his upbringing, crediting them for his work ethic and perseverance.
Ngannou is known for being one of the hardest punchers in MMA. He has incredible knockout power in both hands. Ngannou uses his physicality and aggressive striking to overwhelm opponents. He has earned the nickname “The Predator” in the Octagon.
Outside the cage, Ngannou remains humble and true to his roots.
