The 2020 Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has cautioned Ghanaian voters against selling their votes in the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
She indicates that would amount to selling their conscience for pittance against the general good and development of the country.
“Ghana will soon elect a president for the country so I am encouraging the electorate to vote on merit and not for the money” she advised.
“The Presidential seat is not meant for sale so eschew selling your vote for money since that money cannot change your life, construct the road, or create jobs or get a good education. Take the money and use your conscious in the 2024 general elections. We all remember what happened to the Assin North by-election where voters collected money and voted against the ruling party” Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang reminded.
Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang gave caution when she presented food items to Ankarful Psychiatric Hospital in Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency of the Central Region to celebrate Christmas with patients.
The items included bags of rice, sugar, toiletries, detergents, fruits, maize, bread, sachets water, assorted drinks and among others.
“Even this festive season, we know that a lot of time people with mental illness may be forgotten but the fact that Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang has remembered us today and has brought laudable food items to feed our patients” she said.
