Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a presenter with Wontumi TV/Radio has suggested a possible reshuffle in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo‘s ministerial appointments.

According to him, current Minister of Energy has done enough at the ministry and needs to be given another challenge to handle.

In an undated video sighted by GhanaWeb, the presenter cites the poor power supply situation as basis for his call for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to be replaced.

He specifically proposes that Opoku Prempeh, alias Napo, the current Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, be sent to another ministry preferably the Gender Ministry to continue his work as a minister.

“President Akufo-Addo, Matthew Opoku Prempeh has has done enough at the Energy Ministry, if possible just move him to Gender Ministry to continue there, because where our electricity situation is headed is too bad, it is very bad.

“So, the president can as well take him to Gender Ministry so that new energy is brought to the Energy Ministry,” he stated as other panellists on his show giggled.

Government recently came under pressure after sustained power outages called ‘dumsor’ resurfaced.

The minister came under fire when he suggested that those asking for a load-shedding timetable should present one themselves.

Meanwhile, the power distributor, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) have announced a three-week outage this week citing challenges with gas supplies.
