Nana Osei Adjei has won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries in the Eastern region’s New Juaben North constituency.
The outcome went against Eastern Regional Minister Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, a former Member of Parliament of Mpraeso Constituency who switched to New Juaben North with the hope of returning to parliament in 2025.
Nana Osei Adjei won with 253 votes, followed by Seth Kwame Acheampong with 183, Joseph Osei Djaba with 47, Sampson Kwesi Annor with 2, and Philip Twum-Yeboah with only 3 votes.
There were earlier reports suggesting supporters of Nana Osei Adjei planted juju at the polling station, which caused unrest at New Juaben but the situation was subsequently brought under control by security personnel.
