Former President, John Dramani Mahama has questioned the rationale behind abandoning an aged woman to die in a bush.
The Trauma Specialist Hospital in Winneba has come under scrutiny after an aged woman who was admitted to the facility was sent to Gomoa Ojobi where she is said to hail from only to be abandoned in a bush because he family did not show up.
The aged woman is said to have passed away as a result.
The Ghana Health Service has since started an investigation into the matter and expects that a five-member committee set up for the purpose will deliver their report in 30 days.
Reacting to the issue, John Dramani Mahama could not fathom how the country has sunk so low for health professionals to be crass at performing their duties.
He indicated that elections have consequences an indication that such barbaric act will never happen under his watch.
