Ghana’s Black Princesses trounced Eswatini 6-1 in the first leg of their third-round FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier.

The Princesses had the worst start possible when Eswatini took the lead after just five minutes.

However, Basigi’s team responded in rapid fashion as Mercy Attobra restored parity five minutes later.

The Princesses should have taken the lead on the 24th minute when Beline Nyarkoh was presented a chance but her effort went wide. She made amends four minutes later to put Ghana in front.

Beline Nyarkoh was unlucky not to score a second when her beautifully delivered cross hit the post on the 37th minute.

Ghana probed to extend their lead and were rewarded when Wasima Mohammed’s beautifully struck shot found the net four minutes into the second half.

After a slow start, the Princesses recovered to record an impressive win

Ten minutes later, it was Sarah Nyarko’s turn to get on the score sheet when she finished off Wasima Mohammed’s cross to make it 1-4 in favor of Ghana.

Basigi’s ladies showed no mercy and forced Eswatini into scoring an own goal shortly after the Princesses had recorded a the fourth goal in the 80th minute.

On the 86th minute, Mercy Attobra completed the rout with Ghana’s sixth and what was also her second of the afternoon.

The result if the product of the team camping since Wednesday, October 25th at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

Next year’s tournament in Columbia will be the seventh in Ghana’s history if they are able to qualify.
