Black Stars coach Chris Hughton will name captain Andre Ayew, in Ghana’s squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros this month.
Ayew missed Ghana’s international friendlies against Mexico and the USA in October, but has now been included in the squad to be announced this week.
Sources say Chris Hughton left him out of the squad due to his inactivity but is set to make a U-turn due to the lack of experience in the squad.
While Hughton is aware of Ayew’s current limitations, sources close to the team say the captain is integral in the manager’s plans for a cultural reset in the Black Stars.
Ghana lost both international friendlies last month; 4-0 to the USA preceded by a 2-0 loss to Mexico.
The Black Stars will host Madagascar on November 17 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi before travelling to Moroni to face Comoros on November 21.
