Lockyer was eventually taken off on a stretcher, applauded by all four sides of the ground.
This is the second medical emergency the 29-year-old has had this year. He first collapsed during Luton’s play-off final win over Coventry in May before being taken to hospital.
Following a successful heart surgery, he was given the all-clear to return to playing in June.
Saturday’s game was suspended in the 65th minute with the score at 1-1.
