An aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Assin Central Constituency, Mr. Eric Kwadwo Baidoo has stated that he has what it takes to replace one of Ghana’s longest-serving lawmakers, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyepong in the constituency.
Mr. Kwadwo Baidoo who attempted to contest Kennedy Agyapong in 2020 parliamentary primaries, was disqualified for the incumbent to go into the polls unopposed.
Kennedy Agyapong’s presidential ambition created vacancy within the constituency leading to four candidates including Mr. Eric Kwadwo Baidoo, Mr. Joseph Adjei-Banin, Mr. Godfred Nti Anewu and Obed Kumi Awuah vetted to compete for MP’s position.
Speaking to the media shortly after the vetting of 2024 NPP parliamentary candidate aspirants for Constituencies with sitting NPP MPs in the Central Region, Mr. Kwadwo Baidoo disclosed that he is the best among the four candidates to maintain the seat.
“Nobody doubts my capacity and ability to replace Kennedy Agyapong as MP for Assin Central” he stated.
Mr. Eric Kwadwo Baidoo promised mouthwatering projects in the constituency and said he would help develop the area through industrialization to ease poverty and unemployment among graduates in Assin Central and beyond.
“My vision goes beyond Assin Central since Assin Central is a political boundary and I’m not going to wait till I get to power before I will do what I have to do for the people” he said.
