The Deputy Minister of Education and a Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Sourth constituency, Rev John Ntim Fordjour has disclosed to New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the area that he is not taking the confidence reposed in him for granted

According to the lawmaker, despite the emergence of an Independent parliamentary candidate from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) contesting him in the 2020 parliamentary general elections, he was rewarded with victory, manifesting the level of confidence reposed in him.

“We have had an independent candidate in the past who contested me but by the grace of God because we went in with united front, I won the elections. I extended invitations to independent candidate and his team and received a good number of them who have come back and they are working together with us and now joining my campaign and activities we are conducting” he disclosed.

At his acclamation at Assin Adubiase following a decision by the NPP National Executive Council of the Party for the Member of Parliament for the Area, to go unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries, he commended the delegates for reposing confidence in him

In the 2020 parliamentary primaries one of the aspirants, Mr. Joseph Kofi Damptse was disqualified from contesting after going through vetting and balloting. The situation forced Mr. Damptse to contest as an independent parliamentary candidate.

“This is the third time that I have been elected as a parliamentary candidate for Assin South constituency and on two of these occasions I have been popularly acclaimed to go unopposed so this is an indication of strong confidence the good people of Assin South and the party, in general, have in me which I don’t take it for granted at all,” he said.

“For my people in Assin South I want to believe that whatever you saw for which you have awarded me with a renewed mandate you will see much bigger and greater than that and so we are hoping that as many communities that benefited from my hard work and humble services you will see a lot more communities benefitting’, he assured

“I also believe that it has a result of hard work and promises that we have kept faith with as a result of service and humanity they have renewed these mandates,” he said.
