Special Prosecutor hands 5 accounts back to Cecilia Dapaah, says they are not tainted



The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that it has announced that it has found out that five bank accounts of Cecilia Dapaah, the former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, are not tainted and has therefore revoked the freezing order on the accounts.

According to the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, the OSP’s decision is based on investigations that it conducted after issuing the freezing order on the accounts.

“Subsequently the investigation has eliminated five(5) of the bank accounts of Ms Dapaah from suspicion of being tainted property.

On 16 October 2023, the Special Prosecutor revoked the freezing order in respect of the eliminated five (5) bank accounts of Ms Dapaah,” a statement signed by the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng said.

The OSP has taken steps to freeze the accounts of Ms Cecilia Dapaah after it discovered huge sums of cash in her residence after it came to light that two house helps of Ms Dapaah had stolen huge sums of cash in different currency denominations from her residence.
