”We will get better” – Buoyant Basigi posits after Princesses qualification

Black Princesses coach Yusif Basigi is optimistic the current team has the potential to improve following the team’s qualification.

The Princesses secured a 6-0 aggregate win over Burkina Faso after defeating them 3-0 last weekend.

Yussif Basigi made two changes to the starting line up; introducing Mercy Attobrah for Tracy Twum who started the reverse fixture in guinea Bissau.

Fatimata Mohammed also missed the match due to injury. In all, Basigi was forced to make four changes to the team.

Speaking after the match, the Princesses coach took notices of how the changes affected his team.

”We missed the services of about four of our key players and the new inclusions are yet to pick up the rhythm. That’s why I told them to be patient to play. I have enough time for them because I don’t want to put pressure on them”’ Basigi said.

”They have not gotten the concept yet so that is why I was always on them just to them on track. I am confident that with time, they will be in sync with the rest of the team. What matters is that they understand what the technical team is asking them to do and they have shown an appreciable level of willingness to execute what we have assigned them. Once these elements are in place, we will definitely improve.” he concluded.

The Black Princesses will face Eswatini in the third round of the FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Cup.
