The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says they have discovered some discrepancies between the Final Voters Register the EC issued out to the Political Parties before 2020
election, based upon which ballot papers were printed and the actual register used
on the day of voting in selected polling stations in certain constituencies.

The political party says it is currently studying this across the country and will come out with its findings.

This was made known in the political party’s New Year message delivered by its Chairman, Asiedu Nketia.

“Additionally, the NDC has discovered serious discrepancies between the Final Voters Register the EC issued out to the political parties prior to the 2020 election, based upon which ballot papers were printed, and the actual register used on the day of voting in selected polling stations in certain constituencies. Currently, this revelation is being studied thoroughly across the country. Our full findings will be made public soon,” he said.

The NDC used the opportunity to call on the Electoral Commission to provide victims of the Volta Basin with voter ID cards after their belongings were swept away by flooding.

“We strongly and unconditionally call for a special program to replace lost voter ID cards in the areas affected by floods in the Volta Basin. This was an avoidable humanitarian crisis occasioned by the mismanagement of the dams. The victims have suffered enough of this government’s neglect.”
