A well-known American professional basketball player was Earl Cureton. He was a player with the Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Charlotte Hornets, Houston Rockets, and Toronto Raptors in the National Basketball Association. He went by “The Twirl” for short.

Throughout his 12-year NBA career, Detroit native Earl “The Twirl” Cureton won titles with the 76ers and Rockets.

Despite not being a star, he gained respect throughout the league for his hustling and rebounding.

Cureton remained loyal to his origins after hanging up his sneakers, acting as a community ambassador for the Pistons, and completing his degree at Detroit Mercy to honor his commitment to his mother.

Regretfully, Earl Cureton’s official cause of death remains undisclosed to the public. On February 4, 2024, he suddenly departed away at the age of 66.
