Mr. Joe Apenteng, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Team in the Ashanti Region see no reason to sympathize with the United Television (UTV) following an invasion by some New Patriotic Party (NPP) thugs.
He indicates that the station deserves whatever happened to it considering the fact the same platform was used to denigrate former President John Dramani Mahama.
Mr. Apenteng contends, that most of the guests like Ola Michael, A Plus and Mr. Logic are sympathizers of the NPP who even before 2016 took on John Dramani Mahama and the NDC unfairly singing the praises of Akufo-Addo and the NPP.
According to him, after the failings of the Akufo-Addo administration, they are now trying to draw even by using the UTV and their United Showbiz platform to portray their aversion to the ills going on.
He made his position known on Kumasi-based Ultimate 106.9 FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
“I don’t have a scintilla of sympathy for them (United Showbiz). They did the same to John Mahama, they called him all sorts of names and discussed him and the NDC in an unfair manner but nothing happened to them. They said Mahama was bad and that Nana Addo was good and they wanted him, have they seen what is happening to them”
“The NPP is saying the program on UTV is disrespecting and insulting Bawumia and Nana Addo? What didn’t they do to Mahama? What is more insulting than calling Mahama incompetent? I don’t have sympathy for them at all. The NPP are just full of hoodlums and hooligans who think the country is for them. What didn’t A Plus do to the NDC and Mahama in this country; I thought prosperity was going to judge Mahama in future not knowing it’s going to be now. I am happy we are still all alive and witnessing this”, he said.
