James Kottak was an American drummer who played with several rock bands over his career.
He was best known as the drummer for the German hard rock band Scorpions, which he joined in 1996.
Kottak was their longest-serving drummer, playing with them for 20 years before being dismissed from the band in 2016.
He was also an original member of the band Kingdom Come, playing drums with them in two separate stints from 1987–1989 and again from 2018 until his death in 2024.
