King Faisal have withdrawn their injunction application at an Accra High Court against the Ghana Football Association.

The court has subsequently struck out the application for injunction filed by King Faisal FC against the Ghana Football Association in relation to the GFA Elections Roadmap.

The court did not award any costs against either parties.

In August, King Faisal filed a motion at an Accra High Court, asking the court to restrain the GFA from proceeding with the scheduled elections until the elections for Executive Council members are conducted.

These would be Executive Council slots for Regional Football Associations, Division One, Women’s League, and other constituent bodies.

King Faisal is also seeking a declaration that the GFA acted ultra-vires when it initiated and conducted the nomination process for the presidential elections before conducting the same process for the Executive Council positions.

It is the position of King Faisal that per article 30, 31(1), 32(2)(q) and 37(1) of the GFA Statutes 2019, the GFA breached its statutes.
