The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mfantseman Municipality, Mr. Ike Lord Enu has disclosed that the government ought to be commended instead of condemned for the Lithium Deal.
He notes that the critics as a matter of urgency put a stop to criticizing the Lithium mining company and the government since both parties need to be commended for agreeing on a laudable initiative.
“Tell me one company in this country which is doing mining that has given this country the kind of Lithium benefit or goodies we don’t have anyone. Whether you are a professor or an ordinary man, speak to the issue because we have a country ruled by laws and not by men. What are the laws saying in terms of mining agreement” he asked
“The government needs to be commended for Lithium lease deal negotiation for the country instead of being criticized. If you compare the deal to other African countries, Ghana’s is the best because we are not the first country to discover Lithium”
Ghana has signed a deal with Barari DV Ghana Limited for the exploitation of lithium in Ewoyaa in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.

“People of Mfantseman are ready and waiting for the day that the work will commence hence the community is going to benefit 1% on revenue not on profit without any excuse.
