Former Minority Leader and longstanding National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tamale South Constituency, Haruna Iddrisu, has expressed confidence in former President John Mahama’s ability to bring development and progress to the country if he is elected President of the country again in the December 2024 Presidential Election.

He explained that John Mahama’s experience both as President and opposition leader will come in handy when he is given the chance again. This, he noted, will enable him to better manage the country and put it on the path of development.

“I have said that former President Mahama is coming back to the throne with two important insights and one important hindsight; he has been President, and he is being outside as non-president, and he will combine the two to change the destiny of this country,” he said as part of his speech in Nakpanduri after being conferred with a Chieftaincy title by the Paramount Chief of Nakpanduri last Thursday.

Haruna Iddrisu therefore urged Ghanaians to give John Mahama the nod come December 2024 so that he can change the destiny of the country for good.

There have been rumours of a personal feud between John Mahama and Haruna Iddrisu, especially after Haruna Iddrisu was replaced as Minority Leader. But their body language in public and Haruna Iddrisu’s public show of support for John Mahama have dispelled any such notions.
