Manchester United are in a race against time to make defender Harry Maguire available for Sunday’s Premier League match against Liverpool.
The England defender sustained a groin injury in Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League loss to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford last night.
After initially attempting to play through the pain, Maguire was eventually forced off by the groin injury.
Maguire was subbed off last night and is now a major doubt for Sunday’s league match
The injury came as a surprise to viewers since it was a non-contact muscle injury.
United are now sweating over his situation, as their injuries continue to pile up.
The extent the injury and how long it will take for Maguire to recover, are not known.
On Wednesday, left back Luke Shaw who only returned from a lengthy lay off in November, was also substituted at half time.
United are already without Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony Martial, and Marcus Rashford who are all carrying varying injuries.
Captain Bruno Fernandes is also unavailable through suspension after picking up a yellow card in United’s 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth.
