Asante Kotoko and Bechem United played out a 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum made two changes to his starting line-up from the team that drew with Nations F.C. last week. Nicholas Osei Bonsu made his first start of the season by replacing Nana Benyin at left-back.
Steven Dese Mukwala started in place of Georges Mfegue who missed the match through injury.
Kotoko got off to a perfect start when Peter Amidu Acquah, scored the game’s opening goal after just nine minutes.
Sensing danger, Bechem United coach Bismark Kobby Mensah reshuffled his pack by switching to a three-back formation.
Back from recess, the visitors grew in confidence and threatened to draw level. Their persistence eventually paid off when Emmanuel Avornyo broke free down the left flank before crossing for Augustine Okrah to head home.
The result leaves Kotoko in mid-table with 10 points while Bechem United remains in 12th position with 8 points.
