Reports from Evalue-AJomoro-Gwira indicate that the elections have been canceled.

This is because the political party and its delegates could not agree on a venue for the elections to take place.

Initially, the elections were expected to take place at the Axim Police Station. However, on the day of the election, delegates were told the venue had changed to somewhere in Dwira.

This venue change did not sit well with delegates who were informed earlier that the election would take place in Axim.

A report by TV3 indicates that the Municipal Security Council canceled the election because they believe it may have security implications.

It is not clear when this election will be held. In all, 639 delegates were expected to vote for Madam Catherine Abenlema Afeku and Mr Justice Kangah who were contesting to represent the NPP in the 2024 election.

Delegates of the NPP are voting today in the orphan constituencies to elect their parliamentary candidates.

The election forms part of the party‘s preparation ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Orphan constituencies are areas where the NPP has no sitting MPs. In other words, constituencies whose MPs are from the National Democratic Congress or independent candidates.
