Global InfoAnalytics, a research company that specializes in public opinion polls and market research, has predicted a win for incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, in the upcoming parliamentary primary elections of the NPP.
According to results of a poll, published by Global InfoAnalytics on the likely outcome of primaries in the Yendi Constituency, Farouk Aliu Mahama leads with 44% of the votes followed by Abibata Shani with 25% while the third aspirant, Mahama Zakariah with 0%. Delegates who are undecided are 14% and those who refused to disclose their voting intentions are 17%.
The undisclosed voters, according to Global InfoAnalytics, are in secret support of Farouk Aliu Mahama, meaning that he will carry the day come election day.
“In Yendi, Farouk Mahana likely to win his race with secret support from undisclosed delegates who normally support anti-establishment candidates,” Global InfoAnalytics wrote.
Farouk Aliu Mahama, son of the late former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, has been praised for championing massive developmental projects in his Constituency and making his voice heard in Parliament.
The NPP will elect parliamentary candidates for Constituencies with sitting NPP MPs on January 27, 2024.
