Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bimbilla Constituency of the Northern Region are threatening ‘Skirt and Blouse’ vote over attempts by the party’s hierarchy to impose the incumbent Member of Parliament(MP) Dominic Nitiwul.

They are suspecting collusion between the constituency and Regional to disqualify an aspirant in the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the constituency, one Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Zaruk in order to pave way for the incumbent who doubles as the defense minister to go unopposed.

Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Zaruk’s name was subsequently expunged from the list of aspirants to be vetted, angering his supporters who vandalized their party office.

MyNewsGh .com gathered that an aspirant one Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Zaruk name went missing in the register went missing in the list of aspirants to be interviewed even though he had filed his nomination earlier.

The aspirant’s supporters burnt car tyres, vandalized the party office and some properties to register their displeasure about the situation.

They accused National and Regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of masterminding their aspirants name removal in order to ensure that incumbent MP, Dominic Nitiwul goes unopposed.

“We will vote skirt and blouse in 2024 because of the conduct of the party leadership. They are imposing Dominic Nitiwul on us. If they are not afraid he will lose the primaries on January 27, 2024, then they should allow for a free and fair contest”, one of the protestors disclosed.

The angry NPP supporters have therefore demanded for the inclusion of the name of their preferred candidate or face the consequences in the future.

The New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Northern Region has scheduled the vetting of aspirants on Wednesday January 3,2024 while the upcoming Primaries is slated on January 27, 2024.
