The Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi failed I’m his bid to become the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party for the Ahafo Ano South Constituency.
The unpopular biochemist turned sports administrator could only poll seven votes at the end of counting.
Twumasi was beaten to the seat by Elvis Osei Mensah who polled 357 votes.
Kwasi Kwakye Sebeh polled 84 votes whiles Madam Adutwumwaa managed 48 of the 496 votes cast.
Twumasi has previously served as convener, research and communications officer, and organising secretary of the party.
