The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association has called on the Ghana Police Service to immediately arrest and prosecute the perpetrators linked to the death of their colleague in Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality in the North East Region.
Though a suspect has been picked by the police over the murder, they want his accomplices arrested as he did not do it in isolation.
“The police should as a matter of urgency investigate the death and bring the perpetrators to book”. They demanded.
A statement signed by the President of the Association, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo urged the nursing staff of Walewale government hospital and its environs to continue doing their work as expected and continue to live in harmony with the community.
“We call on the entire nursing and midwifery fraternity of Ghana to remain calm as the police conduct their investigations and deliver justice for the late Salifu Abdulai”.
The deceased Salifu Abdulai alias Expensive had a misunderstanding with some unknown persons resulting in a heated argument.
The deceased was subsequently beaten to a pulp leading to his untimely death.
MyNewsGh.com gathered the body of the deceased was later dumped at the Walewale public cemetery when a passer identified him and rushed him to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The staff of the Walewale Government Hospital and the people of Walewale have called on the police to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and dealt with severely.
Meanwhile, a suspect known as Black Arrow has been arrested in connection with the death of the deceased.
