Alexei Navalny Missing Update 2023
On Monday, representatives of the arrested Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny—whose whereabouts are unknown—announced that they haven’t heard from him.
It was reported that Navalny was detained in a prison colony around 150 miles east of Moscow.
Navalny was sentenced to 19 years in prison in August after being found guilty of several charges, including supporting extremist activity and creating an extremist community.
He was already serving an 11-and-a-half-year sentence in a maximum security facility for charges, including fraud, that he won’t acknowledge.
The argument put up by Navalny’s followers is that his arrest and detention are politically motivated attempts to keep him quiet when he criticizes Russian President Vladimir Putin.
