The damning numbers behind Man United’s Champions League exit

[ad_1]

Manchester United have been eliminated from the group stage of the UEFA Champions League following last night’s 0-1 loss to Bayern Munchen.

The result means United finish bottom of a group containing Bayern Munchen, F.C Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

Speaking after the match, manager Erik Ten Hag told TNT Sports: “We didn’t lose it today, that’s clear. We had a good performance but also we made mistakes. Individual errors. In the end it was not good enough.

“Today’s performance was very good, we didn’t deserve to lose, but we lost the game.

Tried as he may have, Ten Hag’s words cannot soothe the deep wounds at United.

Manchester United are also the first team to fail to win in three consecutive games in the competition after scoring three times in one match.

Last night’s defeat also means Manchester United have now lost 12 out of the 24 matches in all competitions this season.
