Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was clearly upset with referee Simon Hooper’s performance on Sunday.

City played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspurs at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. While Haaland was disappointed with the result, it was a late decision by Simon Hooper that infuriated him.

After the match, the Norwegian striker took to the micro-blogging platform X, to share his frustrations.

In a reply to a video of the incident, Haaland said: ‘WTF’, an acronym for ”What The F*ck?

The original post was a video of the incident that led to the outburst.

While initiating a counter attack, Haaland had his heels clipped by Emerson Royale, but maintained his composure to find Grealish with a lofted pass.

However, just when Grealish seemed through on goal, the referee Simon Hooper inexplicable called back play for a foul, after initially allowing play to continue.

Haaland and his teammates could not hide their frustration as they charged on the referee, demanding an explanation and to protest the decision.

But their protests fell on deaf ears as the referee stood his ground.

The match eventually ended 3-3 at the Etihad Stadium, much to the disappointment of Manchester City.

Haaland is now facing potential charges by the Football Association.
