Denzel Burke is a sophomore cornerback for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a five-star recruit in the 2022 class and was named Third-Team All-Big Ten as a true freshman.
Burke was having a strong season in 2023 before suffering an ankle injury in the third quarter of the game against Purdue on October 14, 2023.
He was taken to the medical tent and did not return to the game.
Burke’s injury was a major blow to the Buckeyes’ defense, as he is one of their top cornerbacks. He has eight tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble on the season.
In his absence, Ohio State will likely rely on freshman Jermaine Mathews and sophomore Jordan Hancock to start at cornerback.
