After Hamas attacked the Kibbutz on October 7, Noa Marciano made a phone call to her mother from the bomb shelter where she was taking cover from the shooting.
The armed wing of Hamas issued a video depicting the 19-year-old lady in captivity, and on Tuesday the Israeli Army verified the name of a soldier, Noa Marciano, who was being held captive by the militant group located in Palestine.
Who was Noa Marciano?
It is reported that Noa Marciano, a native of Modi’in, turned 19 on October 12, 2023, while in Hamas captivity.
The 19-year-old was stationed at Kibbutz Nahal Oz as an army spotter, serving with the Israel Defense Forces’ 414th Regiment’s Combat Intelligence Collection Corps.
On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian militant group Hamas invaded neighboring settlements, notably the Nahal Oz kibbutz, in Israel through Gaza, resulting in the deaths of almost 1,400 people.
In addition, at a music festival in the southern region of the Jewish state, there were attacks at an army base.
Noa Marciano was among the 240 hostages seized by Hamas.
The mother of the 19-year-old who traveled to the US to raise awareness of the hostages, Adi Marciano, stated that her daughter was abducted by Hamas as she was locked up in a bomb shelter on the Nahal Oz kibbutz in southern Israel.
On October 7, Noa Marciano allegedly called her mother from the bomb bunker, where she was seeking refuge from the gunfire that followed Hamas’s attack on the Kibbutz.
In a statement to the Daily News, Adi Marciano stated that her daughter and her friends fled in their pajamas after hearing gunfire outside their home.
